CHURCH
It’s more than a building
The Body
Christ’s hands and feet on earth
Members unified in one mind and spirit
Across time zones, centuries, ethnicities
Not divided by rules made by man
Composed of multitudes from every tribe, tongue, people group, and nation
Who Christ died for
His beautiful bride
Meeting together under the lordship of Christ
Each using his gifts for the edification of the whole
Partnering together to establish heaven on earth and bring kingdom
Sharing amongst each other and serving selflessly
Each one unique but all equal
Fulfilling their individual roles to support, encourage, and build up the Body of believers
Each one listening to and obeying the Father as the Spirit leads, following Jesus’ example
So that His will is done and the Body is ever expanding
Staying unified but always seeking to bring in more to the fold and fighting to get God’s family back
Discipled to make disciples
Receiving salvation and claiming their inheritance
Understanding the cost (everything) and laying down their lives fully for the King
Humble, bold, kind, speakers of Truth
Persevering til the end
Christ being formed in them
Embodying the fruit of the Spirit
Enduring all things with joy and hope
For they know and trust the Lord who they serve
And His love is better than life itself
Secure in their identity as loved children of the Lord Most High
His ambassadors who fill the earth with His glory
Displaying His loving kindness and inviting anyone and everyone into it
Freely receiving from the Father and freely giving it away
Willing vessels
Loved to Love
One Body
One mind
One spirit
The Bride of Christ
The hope of glory
It’s more than a building
CHURCH
“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
??Ephesians? ?4:15-16? ?
“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
??Romans? ?12:4-5? ?
This is such a great summation of what the true church really is. Unfortunately, often times we miss it due to the wrong definition of the church being brick and mortar and programs that are established within the walls. Your blog hits a chord with me. Well said.
